A Proven Leader with Deep Local Roots
I’m proud to announce my candidacy for State Representative of Tennessee’s District 31, which includes Rhea, Bledsoe, Van Buren, and Sequatchie counties. With more than 20 years of service in business, education, the military, and community organizations, I’m ready to bring a balanced and experienced voice to the table.
After 33 years with La-Z-Boy, I retired as Vice President and General Manager, where I had the privilege of leading large teams, managing multimillion-dollar budgets, and helping drive economic growth across our region. I hold an MBA and have built a career on finding practical solutions to complex challenges.
Public service has always been close to my heart. For more than two decades, I’ve served six consecutive terms on the Rhea County School Board, working to improve education for local children. I’m also a 16-year veteran of the 3/278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, and I continue to advocate for veterans and military families across our district.
My campaign is rooted in listening. My understanding of each county’s needs comes from real conversations with residents, and I want to continue hearing your priorities—and learning about new ones that matter to you.
Rhea County has been my home for many years. My involvement in local boards, committees, and youth programs reflects my lifelong commitment to this community. As a longtime member of the Rhea County School Board, I’ve championed classroom resources, teacher support, and student success. I’ll continue to advocate for strong public schools, expanded healthcare access, and economic development that supports working families and small businesses.
Bledsoe County is home to generations of hardworking farming families who have shaped both the land and our local economy. I understand the importance of protecting family farms and promoting sustainable agriculture. I support policies that preserve farmland, strengthen rural infrastructure, and keep farming a viable way of life. Conversations with Bledsoe residents have also highlighted the need for better healthcare access and reliable utilities—issues I’m committed to addressing.
Van Buren County’s natural beauty and close-knit community are among its greatest strengths. I’ve heard from residents about the importance of preserving Fall Creek Falls, supporting local agriculture, and improving rural healthcare. With high rates of chronic illness and limited access to care, I’ve already begun working with healthcare leaders to explore real solutions. I also support investments in recycling, infrastructure, and rural economic development to help Van Buren thrive.
In Sequatchie County, residents have emphasized the need for strong schools, youth programs, and community wellness. With more than 20 years of school board experience, I understand what it takes to support teachers, improve literacy, and expand career pathways for students. I also recognize the county’s deep agricultural roots and the importance of policies that encourage both tradition and innovation. Healthcare and economic opportunity remain top concerns—and I’m committed to listening and acting on what matters most to Sequatchie families.
I’m running because I believe District 31 deserves a representative who shows up, listens, and gets things done. I invite you to share your priorities and join me in shaping a campaign—and a future—rooted in community, experience, and practical leadership.
